Role and Responsibilities:

The FSQA Associate Team Leader (ATL) assists the FSQA Team Leader by overseeing the FSQA team and monitoring quality controls at the urban food production site, which includes ensuring adherence to sanitation and safety measures.
• Partner with the FSQA Team Leader to lead daily operations of the FSQA team, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring standards are met.
• Aid in implementing and monitoring quality assurance programs and processes to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Monitor and regulate the quality of raw materials, materials in production phases, and the end results.
• Oversee the enforcement of environmental monitoring and swabbing initiatives in accordance with GMP, HACCP, and FSMA regulations.
• Follow up on and enhance the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) while providing team members with cross-training opportunities.
• Assist in the implementation of the Pest Control Program under leadership guidance.
• Ensure that health, sanitation, and safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Keep precise records of quality assurance and food safety operations by conducting daily assessments.
• Provide guidance on crisis management strategies, focusing on recalls and cases of contamination.
• Assist in interviewing, selecting, training, and advising team members to cultivate a high-performance team.
• Work with leaders and HR to manage team relations, examinations, and adjustments.
• Adhere to regulatory standards of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, FSMA, ADA, FDA, and Weights and Measures to ensure compliance.
• Extend leadership backing to address quality issues arising internally and externally, including preparation for USDA and FDA inspections.
• Ensure all practices align with Whole Foods Market, USDA, and HACCP standards, actively engaging with USDA inspectors for monitoring and assessment.
• Foster a favorable workplace environment based on unity and admiration.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, food technology, or a relevant field, or a commensurate blend of education and FSQA involvement in the food manufacturing industry.
• 18 months in FSQA facilities and 6 months in a supervisory FSQA role in food production.
• Awareness of food safety criteria set forth by local, state, and federal regulations.
• Skilled in implementing and supervising programs for food safety and quality assurance.
• Proficient in audits and inspections to establish compliance with requirements.
• Competence in understanding data derived from quality assessments, audits, and evaluations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with intermediate computer skills.
• Basic understanding of ERP methodologies used in food manufacturing procedures.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, intrinsic motivation, and adeptness in solo work.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to establish enduring bonds with team members, clients, suppliers, and regulators.
• Strong dedication to the organization's mission of feeding people and nurturing the planet.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) designation.
• HACCP certification.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly earnings: $27.00 to $45.50, with adjustments based on expertise.
