Automation Engineer | Rockford, MI
Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions and control systems.
• Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automated machinery and robotic systems.
• Optimize existing automation processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical schematics and software specifications.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams on automation projects and system integration.
• Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of new automation equipment and software upgrades.
Recommended Qualifications
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Experience with industrial robotics programming, integration, and maintenance (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automated systems, electrical controls, and instrumentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Bonus Qualifications
• Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, Universal Robots).
• Proficiency in designing and implementing industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) interfaces.
• Experience utilizing data historian platforms (e.g., OSIsoft PI, Ignition Historian) for process optimization.
