Role: Product Quality Engineer

Location: Bay Area, CA

Contract Length: 12 months

A cutting‑edge aerospace company developing next‑generation electric aircraft is growing its quality team and looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support airframe production, certification, and continuous improvement efforts.

In this role, you’ll work across design, manufacturing, and operations to ensure complex airframe assemblies meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You’ll lead inspection planning, drive APQP activities, support FAI (AS9102), contribute to MRB decisions, and help shape scalable manufacturing processes.

What you’ll work on:

• Inspection plans, FAI, and AS9102 compliance

• APQP deliverables (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, PPAP)

• Quality support across design & manufacturing

• Continuous improvement, root cause, and CAPA

• Metrics, KPIs, and quality system health

• FAA conformity and certification support

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years in aerospace or a regulated manufacturing environment

• Strong experience with FAI, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and SPC

• Familiarity with CAD, PLM, ERP, MES

• APQP background: FMEAs, DFM, PPAP, MSA, SPC

• Knowledge of AS9100/9102/9145 and related standards

Bonus: SAP, BI dashboards, SQL, composites, FAA experience, Six Sigma certs.
