Pharmacy Technician

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam’s Club, you will play a critical role in supporting pharmacists and ensuring exceptional member care. You will prepare, verify, and dispense medications while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Verify prescription information, dosage instructions, and member information
• Manage inventory by restocking medications and supplies, tracking expiration dates, and ensuring proper storage
• Process prescription orders, refill requests, and insurance claims
• Provide professional and courteous member service, answering medication-related questions when appropriate
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations
• Support pharmacy operations by keeping work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to improve workflow, member experience, and efficiency
Required Skills and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or in-progress with state licensure eligibility
• Experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting preferred
• Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience with prescription processing and insurance claim submissions
• Knowledge of over-the-counter medications, supplements, and pharmacy best practices
• Ability to train or mentor new pharmacy technicians
