Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Senior Electrical CAD / REVIT Designer located in Jersey City, NJ, supporting initiatives for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.

The role involves collaborating with engineers and design teams to create and modify detailed electrical drawings and models using CAD and REVIT software. Responsibilities include preparing layouts, diagrams, and schematics for complex electrical systems while ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.

The position supports the Port Authority Electrical Engineering Design Group, contributing to infrastructure projects across airports, rail systems, buildings, and electrical facilities throughout the New York metropolitan region.

Qualifications
• Expertise in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering concepts
• Proficiency with CAD and REVIT for creating and modifying detailed engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems
• Experience with electrical equipment layouts, schematics, and construction drawings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site engineering environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, CAD, or a related field preferred
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations is a plus

Toll International is seeking a Senior Electrical CAD / REVIT Designer to support the Port Authority Electrical Engineering Design Group on high-impact infrastructure projects across the New York region.

The Mission

Work alongside senior electrical engineers delivering in-house design projects that keep the region’s transportation systems operating. Your drawings will guide construction crews, contractors, and engineers building essential electrical infrastructure.

Assignments may include projects at major airports, rail systems, tunnels, bridges, and facilities across the Port Authority network.

What You Will Do

Prepare and refine high-quality technical drawings supporting electrical engineering design, including:
• General arrangement drawings
• Electrical plans and utility drawings
• Equipment layouts and elevations
• Electrical schedules
• One-line, riser, and wiring diagrams
• Electrical construction details

You may also support specialized work such as:
• Runway and taxiway airfield lighting layouts
• Roadway lighting systems
• Ductbank and manhole electrical infrastructure
• Electrical substations and rail power systems

You will also contribute to the mentoring of junior designers, helping maintain high design standards across the team.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Science, CAD, or related field
• 15+ years producing high-quality CAD and REVIT drawings for electrical engineering projects
• Experience supporting:
• Renovations of existing facilities
• Construction of new buildings and infrastructure
• Electrical substations and distribution systems
• Rail and transportation infrastructure
• Electrical infrastructure such as roadway lighting and ductbanks

Strong candidates will also demonstrate:
• Working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5340-30
• Ability to independently design airfield lighting layouts
• A proven ability to deliver complex work under demanding schedules
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Participation in site surveys and field verification
