Mid-Level Business Financial Analyst (IHD)
Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mid-Level Business Financial Analyst to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. Support is provided base-wide across all departments.
Duties
• Financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department.
• Providing advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
• Analysts examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
• May employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
• Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization’s spending.
• Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
• May conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
• Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
• Manage finances across multiple funding types.
• Track budgets, costs, and variances. Produce executive summaries.
• Conduct financial reporting and analysis on financial issues and customer requirements.
• Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and make recommendations for financial issues.
• Interpret and apply financial management principles.
• Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategies.
Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in a relevant field is desired. An Associates (AA/AS) and four (4) years of additional related experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree.
• Experience: Seven (7) years relevant professional experience is desired.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
