Structural Design Engineer (small bridges, culverts, roadways)

Due to continuous growth in 2026, Boswell is seeking an additional Junior to Mid-Level Structural Design Engineer to join our South Hackensack, NJ Team. In this role, training and mentoring will be provided on a consistent basis to enhance the right Candidate’s growth, knowledge base but a minimum of 2+ years of structural design experience is required.

Responsibilities include:
• Structural analysis and drafting of structural details using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Design of both simple and complex bridges and culverts
• NJDOT and NJ Turnpike Authority structural design is preferred but not required.
• A wide variety of additional transportation-related structures including retaining walls, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures, including waterfront structures and dams
• A variety of building and parking garage structures as well as pump stations and ancillary utility authority structures
• Compliance with all internal standards, policies and procedures

Requirements/ Qualifications:
• BS Degree in Civil Engineering with some experience or interest in structural analysis and drafting of structural details using AutoCAD and Civil 3D design
• Experience preferred in performing structural calculations and reports using Enercalc, STAAD.Pro
• Experience preferred in designing reinforced concrete footings, foundations, and retaining walls
• Desire to obtain Engineer-in-Training/ EIT Certification as soon as possible
• Experience and skills preferred in AutoCAD and 3D Design
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a team office environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to sites as needed

The hourly range below is applicable for the job and location associated with this position. Compensation will vary based on specific relevant experience, education, certifications, skill levels, geographic location and other compensable factors.

Hourly Range: $30.00 - $39.00 / Hour
