Role Description
This is a full-time/Contract hybrid role for a Senior Business System Analyst at our Client location in Jersey City, NJ. Local to New York, New Jersey.
Recent experience in property and casualty insurance project.
Good knowledge on claims, policy life cycle, insurance, accounting.
Understand and analyze loss ratio, combined ratio, reserves, and premium calculations.
Support actuarial and risk teams with data insights and reporting.
Accounting & Financial Analysis
• Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles including:
• Premium recognition (written vs earned premium)
• Loss reserves (IBNR, case reserves)
• Revenue recognition
• Expense allocation
• Reconcile data between policy systems, claims systems, and General Ledger (GL).
• Support financial close processes, reporting, and audits.
Data & Reporting
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and transformation.
Collaborate with data engineering teams on ETL pipelines and data warehousing.
Good to have - Reinsurance, AI
The role involves tasks such as business systems analysis, systems analysis, and defining business requirements.
Reviewing the Mapping documents from source to destination.
Leading the development team and making sure the deliverables are according to the acceptance criteria.
Leading large team, managers in building large scale, highly available distributed Data.
Strong experience in building production grade enterprise solutions.
Qualifications

• Analytical Skills and Business Analysis abilities
• Experience in defining and documenting business requirements
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
• Handson SQL
• Excellent Communication.
