We are seeking a dedicated Welder/Steel Erector who is responsible for fabricating and assembling steel structures by interpreting technical drawings, operating welding and metalworking equipment, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards in a dynamic construction environment.

Duties And Responsibilities
• Erect ladders, stairs, and scaffolding to assemble large structures.
• Design and construct templates and fixtures using hand tools.
• Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or assemble metal components.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Tack-weld fitted parts together.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
• Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices.
• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or material requirements.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Skills
• Proficiency in operating fabricating and welding equipment
• Past experience in welding various thicknesses
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices accurately
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Qualifications
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience and/or AWS Structural Welder Stick Certification (D1.1)
• Can safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stairs, and climb out of ditches
• Comfortable executing welding tasks with high proficiency at heights of 100 feet and above
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable transportation to job sites
