Job Title: Senior Test Engineer

Job Description

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure that both existing and future products meet design intent and reliability specifications. You will play a crucial role in analyzing data collected under controlled conditions to determine appropriate testing actions. Your input will be vital in initial design stages to enhance performance and increase first-pass yield during testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure design intent and reliability specifications are met for existing and future products.
  • Collect and analyze data in a controlled manner to determine appropriate testing actions.
  • Provide input on initial design to ensure performance and increase testing first-pass yield.
  • Work directly with design, production, and customer service engineers during case testing to resolve performance, parts, and customer expectation issues.
  • Act as a lead in driving corrective actions in the field related to product performance.
  • Collaborate with product engineering to conceptualize and implement improvements to existing products regarding performance and cost reductions.
  • Partner with appropriate teams to evaluate component and design alternatives for quality and cost improvements.
  • Understand and apply industry and regulatory requirements to existing and new products, including DOE, ASHRAE 72, NSF 7, and UL standards.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years of industrial manufacturing experience within refrigeration or HVAC.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Refrigeration or HVAC.
  • Hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customized testing/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for accurate refrigeration testing and analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Design of Experiments and structured problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to clearly document testing results and communicate effectively.
  • Capability to obtain EPA Universal certification to work with refrigerants.
  • Project management skills.

Work Environment

You will work in a test lab environment with approximately 20 team members, within a larger manufacturing site consisting of two plants and around 1,000 employees. This role offers a great opportunity to work on true engineering products/projects with significant room for growth and a 5% bonus. The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
