Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

Job Description

Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is currently seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst. The FP&A Analyst supports the Finance team by providing financial insights, forecasting, and analytical support to drive strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with the VP of Finance and Operations and cross-functional leaders to monitor performance, develop budgets, and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and annual budgets
• Analyze monthly financial results and variances against budget and prior periods
• Prepare and deliver financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership
• Support long-range planning and strategic initiatives
• Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and improve performance
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis
• Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting processes
• Improve and streamline financial processes, tools, and reporting capabilities

Experience And Skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 5-7+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related role
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools) preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting senior leadership or executive teams
• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Experience with tools such as Power BI, Cost Point/Deltek
