Job Summary
The Manufacturing/Test Engineer helps ensure every Acromag product ships with confidence by building reliable, efficient manufacturing tests and fixtures. In this hands-on role, you’ll partner closely with Engineering and Production to improve test coverage, reduce manual steps through automation, and solve real-world problems on the bench and on the production floor.
What success looks like (first 90 days): Learn our products and existing production test set-ups, deliver at least one fixture or test improvement into production, and help standardize documentation/training so operators can run tests consistently.
Duties/Responsibilities
You’ll work with: Test Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to keep tests robust, repeatable, and easy to run.
· Design and improve manufacturing test fixtures for our process and embedded products.
· Develop and expand automated test solutions to improve throughput, repeatability, and quality (from concept to deployment, with team support).
· Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical test issues and collaborate with Engineering/Production to drive root-cause fixes.
· Create and maintain clear production test procedures and supporting documentation.
· Train and support operators on new/updated fixtures and test procedures to ensure smooth adoption.
· Support cost estimates and justification for test-related tools/equipment as needed.
Skills/Abilities
· Experience with PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer) or the ability to ramp up quickly.
· Programming experience in one or more of C/C++/C# (used to build and maintain test applications/tools).
· Hands-on experience with electronics test and measurement fundamentals (e.g., using meters/scopes, basic debugging, interpreting schematics).
· 3D CAD experience for product, tooling, or fixture design.
Preferred (nice to have)
· Experience with data acquisition, DAC/ADC concepts, and automated measurement workflows.
· Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity when troubleshooting.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills (you’ll write procedures and collaborate cross-functionally).
· Comfort working within defined processes (and helping improve them when needed).
· Self-directed and collaborative—comfortable asking questions and sharing what you learn.
Education and Experience
· 2+ years of relevant experience in test, manufacturing engineering, or related hands-on engineering work (internships/co-ops count).
· Comfortable working around electronics (reading schematics, basic lab equipment, debugging circuits).
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Physical Work Environment

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
