Position Overview
Join our team at Serco to support the U.S. Navy at the Washington Navy Yard and various locations in Virginia! We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst who is passionate about challenging programming projects and is eager to make a significant impact on Navy modernization efforts. Location: Washington Navy Yard and various locations in Virginia. The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), driving effective operational and technical improvements through planning, budgeting, engineering, installation, and configuration management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses and prepare materials for the Availability Duration Scorecard (ADS) Quarterly Review.
- Calculate projected maintenance durations for Navy Surface ships and present findings quarterly.
- Organize data, perform analytics, and produce clear, concise written reports.
- Create and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other analytical tools related to shipyard capacity and budgeting.
- Gather technical data from diverse sources and utilize Excel/SQL for data retrieval.
- Employ data mining techniques to identify patterns and insights from large datasets.
- Analyze trends, solve problems, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Design and deliver visual presentations to convey concepts effectively using Microsoft Teams or compatible platforms.
- Interpret data and recommend solutions based on analysis.
- Lead working groups and readiness exercises, developing compelling narratives and visuals.
- Provide ongoing program management and planning support.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- A Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in data analytics, including statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex data insights to Navy leaders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with naval data sources and systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Knowledge of Navy maintenance and modernization processes.
- Education or certifications in data analytics or computer science.
- Experience with Python and machine learning languages.
