PowerBuilder Developer

Job Title: PowerBuilder Developer Location-Type: Remote (any timezone) Start Date Is: 4/6 Duration: 6 months contract Compensation Range: $50/hr – $60/hr W2

Job Description: Support and enhance a legacy PowerBuilder application by resolving bugs, improving performance, and maintaining critical functionality in a live customer-facing environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance PowerBuilder-based legacy applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, defects, and performance issues
• Work with SQL databases including Sybase, SQL Server, and Oracle
• Clean up and support legacy data within customer systems
• Partner with business analysts, QA, product owners, and end users to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Investigate root causes in a lightly documented environment and recommend effective fixes
• Document code, processes, and technical specifications
• Use Jira to manage and progress support and development tickets

Requirements

• Must-Haves:
• 5 years of experience maintaining and supporting PowerBuilder applications
• Strong SQL and relational database experience
• Experience working with legacy systems in a production environment
• Solid debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience handling active bug fixes, performance issues, and application defects
• Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal oversight
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders
• Professional demeanor with a logical, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset
• Work authorization limited to USC or GC
• Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience with court or case management software
• Knowledge of the judicial system
• Experience supporting applications that integrate with Java web applications
• Prior Jira experience
