Job description

Akkodis is seeking an Electrical/I&C Field Engineer for a client located at Melville NY. This is a 12-month contract Position.

Pay Range: $50 - $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Your Responsibilities will Include

  • Review and comment on drawings, specifications, and all other technical documents developed by engineering and equipment vendors for the project against Code.
  • Monitor contractor operations and verify conformance with project plans and specifications for the electrical and instrumentation aspects of the project.
  • Review and comment on equipment and accessory purchase specifications; review and evaluate manufacturers' proposals and drawings.
  • Review operating, maintenance, and test procedures prepared by engineering vendors and equipment manufacturers.
  • Inspect all electrical, instrumentation, and control installations to confirm conformance with engineering drawings and applicable codes.
  • Review and approve site mark-ups to ensure as-built are accurate and complete before final documentation updates.
  • Track, in coordination with the contractors Commissioning Manager, all pre-commissioning/commissioning checks and testing activities associated with electrical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Prepare daily reports to the Project Engineer/Project Manager on progress, issues, and concerns.
  • Assist with resolving job site technical issues encountered during the execution of the project and report issues
  • Follow up and compile LNG Operations comments on engineering documents to ensure compliance with specifications and minimize disruption to operations activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of field experience, with average experience of 15+ years
  • 5 years of experience engineering of LNG or Power or Oil and Gas plants preferred
  • 1-2 years experience with EPC contracts
  • Experience in planning and coordination of plant shutdown activities preferred
  • Experience in a cross-disciplined engineering/operational role preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external and internal customers
