Job Title: Performance Engineer (Storage QA Focus)

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Data / Performance Engineer with strong expertise in performance testing, data systems, and storage validation (QA). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in benchmarking, performance tuning, and validating large-scale storage systems and distributed data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests for data platforms and storage systems

Validate storage systems (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) for reliability, scalability, and performance

Develop and maintain automated performance testing frameworks

Analyze system bottlenecks across compute, memory, disk I/O, and network layers

Work with engineering teams to optimize data pipelines, databases, and storage architectures

Perform benchmarking of distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka

Create detailed performance reports and provide actionable insights

Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams for capacity planning and system tuning

Ensure data integrity and consistency under high-load scenarios

Required Skills

Performance Engineering

Experience with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Locust

Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies

Storage QA / Validation

Hands-on experience testing

SAN / NAS / Object Storage (e.g., S3-compatible systems)

Knowledge of

File systems (NFS, SMB, EXT4, XFS)

Disk performance tools (FIO, IOMeter)

Experience validating

Throughput, latency, IOPS

Data Engineering / Big Data

Experience with

Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Spark, HDFS)

Streaming systems (Kafka)

Strong SQL and data validation skills

Cloud & DevOps

Experience with cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP

Familiarity with

Kubernetes, Docker

CI/CD pipelines

Programming / Scripting

Proficiency in

Python / Java / Shell scripting
