Associate Healthcare Director (AHCD)
The Associate Healthcare Director (AHCD) supports the Healthcare Director (HCD) in leading the community’s health and wellness programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role provides leadership to medication technicians and nursing assistants and promotes a culture of collaboration, safety, and resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily operations of the resident care department to ensure efficiency and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies
- Conduct pre-admission assessments and ongoing resident evaluations to determine and address care needs
- Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans based on assessments and resident preferences
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated and effective care
- Support oversight of the medication management program, including training, audits, and safety compliance
- Maintain survey readiness through accurate documentation, regulatory knowledge, and participation in plans of correction
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to promote resident and staff safety
- Train, mentor, and validate competencies of medication technicians and care staff
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and coaching of new team members
- Participate in community and care meetings in the absence of the Healthcare Director
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and maintain strong relationships with staff, residents, and families
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, addressing concerns and supporting problem resolution
- Complete all required training and support specialized care initiatives, including memory care programming
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Active, valid, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in good standing in the state of practice (required)
- 1–2 years of relevant experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Experience in geriatric care and working with individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia strongly preferred
- Current CPR certification (required)
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities
- Ability to serve as Manager-on-Duty as needed
