Lead Windows Engineer - Major Hedge Fund

Our client, a leading global investment firm, is hiring a Lead Windows Engineer to take ownership of its Windows infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. This is a senior, hands-on role leading a team while shaping the strategy and evolution of a highly performant, enterprise-scale platform used by engineering and research teams.

You’ll be responsible for designing and improving a scalable, secure, and automated Windows server environment, working closely with developers and quantitative teams to deliver a seamless and reliable infrastructure experience.

The role combines technical leadership with deep hands-on engineering, including automation, performance optimisation, and continuous platform improvement.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience with Windows Server, VMware / virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure
• 5+ years of experience within the finanical industry, ideally on the buyside at a hedge fund / trading firm
• Proven background leading technical projects or teams in a high-performance environment
• Solid scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud platforms
