Laboratory Technician – Scientific Preparation
Location: Cambridge, Discovery Centre (AstraZeneca)

Key Responsibilities
• Preparation of media, buffers, and sterile solutions
• Operating autoclaves and sterilizing glassware and plasticware
• Aseptic aliquoting within Class II MBSC
• Operating automated and semiautomated laboratory equipment
• Calibration of pH meters and balances
• Using digital ordering systems and replenishing consumables
• Supporting glasswash operations and general laboratory housekeeping
• Monitoring expiry dates and ensuring compliance with GLS, GxP and SHE standards
Requirements
• Willingness to learn and develop
• Experience with aseptic technique or stock management is an advantage
• Customer service experience is required
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Previous laboratory experience and understanding of SHE requirements
Working Conditions
• Labbased role located in the basement area of the Discovery Centre in Cambridge
• Manual, handson work with regular standing
• Occasional lifting and movement of laboratory materials
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00
