Job Summary
Provides continuous surveillance of telemetry patients while supporting patient- and family-centered care. Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, communicates changes promptly to the Registered Nurse, and documents patient information in accordance with established policies and procedures. Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions
Interacts with patients, families, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson’s values.
Monitors cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry, recognizing and reporting abnormalities to the Registered Nurse.
Documents rhythm interpretations and significant events during each shift.
Maintains and troubleshoots telemetry equipment, escalating issues as needed.
Supports safe, compassionate, and coordinated care that respects patients’ preferences and cultural values.
Utilizes information technology systems to document and communicate patient information.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Previous telemetry monitoring and/or patient care experience preferred
Certifications / Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Completion of a telemetry monitoring course and exam preferred
Telemetry certification preferred
