Guardian Veterinary Centre is a companion animal specialty and emergency centre located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We have had a specialty presence in Edmonton since 2007 and have built a solid reputation within the referral community.

Responsibilities

As the sole Neurology Specialist, you will diagnose and manage neurological disorders in patients, while partnering closely with pet parents to guide them through complex conditions. You will assess pets presenting with seizures, ataxia, paralysis, severe spinal pain, or notable behavioral changes. Additional responsibilities include;

• Advanced Imaging & Diagnostics: Perform CT scans, MRIs, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis.

• Neurosurgery: Perform specialized surgical procedures

• Medical Management:  Provide treatment options for complex issues .

• Specialized Care: They provide in-depth consultations to pinpoint nerve and muscle issues. 

• Connect with the referring community regularly to offer neuro information

• Work alongside specialists and collaborate on medical insights, processes and general operational initiatives

Our specialists are supported by our registered Veterinary Technologists (RVT) who are highly skilled, utilized to their fullest potential (mobilized), and always eager to learn. Our facility is a well-equipped, state of the art, 20,000 square foot hospital, newly updated CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, arthroscopy, and a critical care ventilator. We are excited to be expanding this year to include 8000 square feet of additional facilities including installation of an MRI a dedicated ICU, and extra exam and procedure. We also have an onsite digital cytology analyzer, resulting in very quick turnaround times for clinical pathology reports. New reno's starting soon - 2024 completion.
