Lead Imaging Embedded Software Engineer (1 year Contractor)

The Role:

The Lead Imaging Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for Video Conference Cameras installed in office meeting rooms and open work spaces. 

You will be tasked with developing, maintaining, and enhancing the embedded camera BSP platform on which the camera ISP Pipeline software and image processing algorithms run and deliver the video streams.

• Responsible for Camera BSP software components
• Developing camera ISP pipeline software and drivers for our specific product requirements
• Modifying and enhancing Android Camera HAL and Linux Camera API 
• Developing Android Apps and Services, and Linux Applications for accessing our specific camera features
• Maintaining Code Repos which requires proficiency in code review, merging, and using Gerrit or GitHub
• Managing code branching, merging and code conflict resolutions 

Your theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise in camera software will be applied to the development of our camera subsystem resulting in optimized and balanced performance.

Key Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with strong knowledge and experience camera BSP software stack development. 

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

• Working knowledge of camera BSP software development
• Android or Linux Environment software development experience
• C / C++ / Java / Python
• Camera ISP pipeline embedded software experience, especially for key SOC suppliers, is highly desirable
• Camera API and App programming experience a definite plus  
• Basic knowledge in embedded ISP algorithms: pixel processing, 3A, image enhancement, Auto Scene Detection, etc. a plus

Education:

• MSc Computer Science or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant working experience, or
• BSc Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant working experience

We will also consider candidates with less experience at Senior Engineer or Engineer Level but with strong interests in learning and entering the field of camera software BSP.  

Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with team members, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations.
