Job Description:

Job Summary
This position oversees tractor trailer movement in the transportation network, ensuring safety training and compliance. He/She manages staffing levels, trailer activity, and equipment needs while meeting service and cost goals. This position reviews daily operational reports to manage productivity and performance. He/She monitors results (e.g. safety tests, observations, etc.) to ensure compliance with government agencies and Occupational Safety and Health. This position manages Feeder Supervisors and Yard Control Supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Quality Performance Review (QPR), Career Development, Training, Staffing, etc.).
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individuals and group results.
  • Resolves individual and group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork.
  • Coaches others and provides on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
  • Collaborates with Feeder Schedulers to plan weekly and special sort activities.
  • Communicates cross-functionally (i.e. Plant Engineering, Human Resources, etc.) to ensure equipment is available, in good condition, loaded properly, and dispatched on time.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred
  • Supervisory Experience
