Best Buddies Learning Center at The Shore Inc in Easton Maryland is seeking to add staff to join us in our Best Buddies Family! If you are a fun-loving, energetic, passionate, positive, and motivated teacher to enrich children's lives each and every day we would love to meet you! We are seeking to fill various Childcare Teaching positions! Our open positions include Lead Teacher for our Toddler Class and on call substitutes.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and guide children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
• Create a fun and safe learning environment
• Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and co-workers
• Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
• Maintain the health and safety of all students
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Follow the center wide curriculum and add additional activities pertaining to your students interest

Qualifications for Lead Teachers

• At least 1 year of previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• High School Diploma or GED
• Classes (Taken or will take in the near future):90 hour Infant and Toddler Certificate

9 hour Communication CourseADACPR/1st AidInfant/Todd Teacher- needs 45 hour Infant/Toddler Certificate & Breastfeeding courseSchool Age Teacher- needs 45 hour School Age Certificate

• Teachers must be at least 19 years of age
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead the classroom and develop a positive partnership with your Aide as you guide them

Qualifications for: Substitutes

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields a plus
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Ability to be available with short notice (Ex. Morning of sick call outs).
• At least 18 years of age
• Willing to take continuing education courses as mandated by MSDE to further knowledge in the field

Pay is based on qualifications and position

Teachers are paid $18-20 per hour to start

Substitutes are paid $15-17 per hour
