Position Overview

The Sr. Research Scientist leads advanced scientific projects in the field of LC-Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics. This role independently designs, executes, and interprets complex experiments, integrating findings to advance scientific understanding and guide development of new methods, technologies, or products. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, the Sr. Research Scientist serves as a technical expert and innovator, driving research excellence from concept to practical application.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Leads the planning and execution of complex LC-MS-based proteomics experiments or projects, developing innovate approaches and providing technical/scientific leadership for product or research initiatives.
• Serves as technical lead and subject matter expert, mentoring junior scientists and guiding project teams.
• Analyzes complex experimental Proteomics (LC-MS) data, interprets, results, identifies project risks, and offers actionable recommendations for ongoing and future work.
• Drives process innovation, method development and implementation of new LC-MS technologies; authors detailed technical reports and scientific communications.
• Maintains cutting-edge knowledge in the field of Proteomics / Biomarker-discovery, influencing project direction and contributing to strategic research objectives.
• Ensures rigorous compliance with all regulatory, legal, and internal quality requirements.
• Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
• Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
• Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend/international travel.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in field as outlined in the essential duties; very strong background in LC-MS-based Proteomics.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in preferably biotech, life science, diagnostic or pharmaceutical industry (or academia post PhD) in the field of Proteomics.
• 2+ years of experience in IVD (medical devices), as well as in designing and executing complex experiments, performing quantitative data analysis, and interpreting results to guide next-phase studies.
• Demonstrated success leading projects or technical innovation in a biotech, pharma, or other scientific environment.
