The Opportunity

As Payroll Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring every team member is paid accurately and on time, creating a seamless experience that builds trust, confidence, and engagement across our clubs and support offices.

You will be the go-to expert for payroll, partnering with teams across the business to deliver a high-quality, responsive service. From resolving queries to coordinating payroll activities end to end, you will help create a smooth and reliable process that supports our people to focus on what matters most, helping our members live healthier, more active lives.

Working closely with payroll partners and systems, you will also contribute to improving how we operate, ensuring compliance while continuously looking for ways to enhance efficiency and the employee experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing for fortnightly cycles with accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintain payroll records, including new hires, transfers, and terminations, ensuring timely system updates.

  • Ensure payroll processes, policies, and procedures are followed in line with business and legislative requirements.

  • Respond to payroll enquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.

  • Prepare and submit statutory forms (e.g. Centrelink, child support, separation certificates) within required timeframes.

  • Escalate complex payroll matters to the Payroll Team Leader or People & Culture Business Partners when required.

  • Maintain accurate electronic filing of payroll records and documentation.

  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with STP, superannuation, and government leave requirements.

  • Process superannuation contributions and other statutory obligations within deadlines.

  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations and reporting.

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and clear communication to employees, managers, and stakeholders.

Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills allow you to build positive relationships across the business, while your service-focused approach ensures employees and managers feel supported and informed at every step.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a busy, high-volume payroll environment.

  • Experience with end-to-end and managed payroll processes.

  • Hands-on experience with time and attendance systems

  • Ability to quickly adapt to system updates or transitions, with the skills to upskill and support others during periods of change.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a solutions-focused mindset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
