Job description
We’re looking for a hands-on Project Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day project finance across our ANZ business on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a delivery-focused role ensuring projects are financially well-managed, reporting is accurate and timely, and core processes run with discipline. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Finance to maintain strong financial control across a high-volume project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Finance Operations
Own the end-to-end project finance cycle across the portfolio
Ensure accurate reporting of WIP, revenue, variances, and project status
Maintain integrity of project data within systems (rates, budgets, structures)
Monitor and manage projects with no activity, aged WIP, and variances
Drive timely project closure and clean-up of legacy balances
Financial Control & Governance
Maintain strong financial controls across project accounting processes
Ensure timesheets are completed, approved, and posted in line with deadlines
Oversee intercompany project setup, tracking, and billing
Support audit requirements with clear, well-structured documentation
Identify risks (revenue leakage, cost overruns, inactive projects) and ensure they are addressed
Business Partnering
Work closely with Project Managers to improve project financial discipline
Provide clear, practical insight on project performance and variances
Support weekly sales forecasting and pipeline discussions
Act as a key point of contact between Finance and the project teams
Month-End & Reporting
Support month-end close, ensuring project balances are accurate and complete
Deliver variance analysis and commentary for management reporting
Contribute to budgeting and ongoing forecast updates
Ad-hoc reporting
Process & Systems
Ensure consistent application of project finance processes and policies
Identify and implement practical process improvements
Act as a go-to for system/process queries across Project Finance
What We’re Looking For
5+ years’ experience in project accounting or similar roles
Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, and project lifecycle management
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and control
Able to manage volume and prioritise effectively in a deadline-driven environment
Confident working with stakeholders to drive outcomes and follow through
Strong systems capability and advanced Excel skills
