Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Contract Administrator. The preferred location will be Sunnyvale, CA or San Diego, CA, but this can be staffed at our Linthicum, MD location, as well. This is an on-site position offering a 9/80 schedule.

What You’ll Get to Do
The Contract Administrator will report to the Columbia Operating Unit Contract Manager and provide Contracts support for contracts within the Columbia Operating Unit.  The Columbia OU is part of the Marine Systems Business Unit.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer, extend, negotiate and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts with management support

  • Conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications with management support

  • Coordinate with functional teams and management to lead internal proposal approval process

  • Advise program teams of contractual rights and obligations, including interpretation of contract terms and conditions

  • Maintain and update contract documents and official program records, including contractual documents and correspondence

  • Monitor contract requirements and associated program funding and deliverables to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated, understood, and followed

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and government regulations

  • Administer, negotiate, and perform closeout of contract

  • Maintain an open and healthy relationship with internal and external customers

The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and possess excellent decision-making skills that support resolution of complex problems while minimizing risk to the Corporation, and will have the ability to work independently.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in contract administration and management or related fields (i.e. compliance, legal, etc.) or Masters Degree plus a minimum of 1 year experience.

  • Advanced skills using MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with proposal development and negotiation.

  • Experience with FAR and DFARS or other contracting laws/regulations.

  • Experience with various contract types such as Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price, etc.

  • Experience in the defense industry.

  • Experience working with internal and external customers.

  • Advanced understanding of Government contracting requirements.

  • A current/active DoD Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
