This position will oversee the F-35 and adjacent program Hardware Quality Engineering efforts at the NGMS Rancho Carmel site.
What you'll get to do:
- Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
This role includes management responsibility for a team of direct reports. This role will support the Integrated Product Team on our manufacturing site and will provide quality support. Work activities will be focused on Material Review as part of the Nonconforming Material Control process, Corrective Actions & Root Cause Investigations, and quality data analysis and reports.
Basic Qualifications for the Manager Quality Engineering 2:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other STEM-related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering or Manufacturing; Minimum of 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
Demonstrated experience of quality engineering, inspection methods, production control, manufacturing operations, product test & evaluation, reliability, root cause analysis, defect analysis, control of nonconforming material, product sell off, shipping, and product support as they apply to quality.
Experience with QMS (ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and/or AS9100 standards).
Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis processes.
Experience with Preliminary or Material Review Board Process and dispositioning material in a manufacturing facility.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management.
CAM/Earned Value certification
Active Secret Clearance or higher, or ability to acquire a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
