Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman's Fuze & Warheads Operating Unit is seeking a Director Program Management to lead Program Managers who identify, capture, develop, and execute new and follow-on business. The position is located in Plymouth, Minnesota in partnership with the Rocket Center, West Virginia (ABL) team. The leader of this exciting and challenging role will be responsible for the leadership of all Fuze & Warheads Bomb and Missile Weapons programs which includes:
- Functional leadership of PMs, assignment of resources to programs, and oversight and execution of all Program Management processes across Bombs and Missile Weapons whose key customers are Navy, Air Force, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and others
- Development of long-term Fuze & Warheads growth strategies for Bomb and Missile Weapons throughout the program lifecycle
- Development of product and technology road maps
- Focus on developing increased customer intimacy for the customer base
- Management of discretionary budget and resources related to the Bombs & Missiles portfolio
- Program execution of existing programs including P&L management
- Serve as liaison between the Fuze and Warhead team in Rocket Center, WV and Plymouth, MN
- Ensure all programs are executed in a manner that meets or exceeds Northrop Grumman yearly financial goals and customer requirements
- Proactively create, cultivate, and enhance relationships with current and potential customers, including prime contractors, and government laboratories to identify new business opportunities
- Oversee the preparation of new and follow-on proposals and aid program/proposal managers (both at ABL and Plymouth) in understanding the risks and consequences of the bid/proposal process
- Grow the Fuze and Warhead portfolio to drive profitable revenue growth
- Manage the expansion of the Fuze and Warhead Bombs and Missiles products into international markets
- Hire, train, develop, and supervise a motivated team of Program Managers
- Support the development of program management and project control processes and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years with a master’s degree.
- Direct work experience with the Department of Defense Government and/or Major Prime Contractors (Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin)
- Demonstrable history of versatile and dynamic leadership and the ability to forge strong customer and teammate relationships and to build, maintain, and motivate a high-performance execution team
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to forge customer relationships and grow the business
- Experience managing production programs.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM
- Candidate should be a strong collaborator with the ability to work across multiple areas within Northrop Grumman and be comfortable navigating a matrixed environment
- Ability to advocate and influence government developmental acquisition plans and create new business capture strategies
- Ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks while operating in a demanding, high-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Understanding of export/import control rules and regulations such as ITAR, EAR FAR, DFAR, etc.
