Description of Work
We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician Lead position at Central Regional Hospital in Staff Development. The primary purpose of the position is to assist in planning and implementing of specific training programs, orientation of new and existing staff, and certification of employees in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and restrictive intervention techniques.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $34,066.00 - $51,099.00
*A Sign-on bonus of $2,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of a certified nursing assistant I and II (including bio-statistical data such as vital signs, lab work and specimen collection)
- Knowledge of basic education and training techniques of the adult learner
- Ability to learn and follow safety measures and identify safety/security risks to patient population (including security of environment and higher levels of observation)
- Ability to effectively communicate via hand-off to other nursing co-workers and the interdisciplinary team
Conditional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification and CPR certification within 60 days
- Ability to obtain instructor certification from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) and Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification within one year
- Ability to obtain CPR instructor certification within one year
The working schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.
*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
- The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
