Job Description:

J&J IM is recruiting for a Staff Facilities Engineer - Coordinator reporting to the Senior Manager FM and to be based in Ghent, Belgium.

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled coordinator. This position is responsible for managing the daily business of the 2 facilities. She/He will be working closely together with and will be supervising our main facilities contractors (hard and soft services). The role is crucial for planning and executing preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance and is key in alarm management. Safety is fundamental and work permit management is the foundation of all our activities. As we are working in a pharmaceutical company/environment quality management is fully interwoven and indispensable in everything we do. Technical expertise in electrical, mechanical and automation science is a must-have.  

The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge, must be independent, reliable and responsible. Along with communication skills an absolute prerequisite is being stress-resilient. 

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Facilities Asset Maintenance 
    Ensure -together with the scheduler – that any maintenance activities (corrective, preventive, predictive) are executed timely and appropriately.  

  • Work Management & Optimization 
    Continuous apply the kaizen mindset. Identify cost and technical improvements. 

  • Facilities Compliance & Safety 
    Maintain adherence to all relevant regulatory standards, safety protocols and environmental/sustainable requirements. 
    Ensure all activities are managed in accordance with QMS. Ensure effective closure on QMS documents (audit actions, NC’s, CAPA’s, CC’s, maintenance records, …).  
    Implementation of EHS requirements in general. 
    Implement, support and apply 5S. 
    Contribute to and live a proactive safety culture. 
    Participate in a standby system for interventions outside of office hours. 

  • Asset Technology & Data Integration 
    Identify projects lead to current buildings and systems. 

  • Maintenance Reliability & Fundamentals 
    Apply principles of maintenance reliability, such as root cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), to improve asset dependability and reduce downtime.  

  • Leadership & Team Development 
    The E&PS FM CarT team is an unimaginably strong and gifted team. Fitting into this fantastic team is an absolute must.  
    Very short lines with all your colleagues is indispensable. Essential is building a strong and powerful network within the company. 

  • System & Data Management 
    Proficiently work with and within the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track asset performance, generate reports and support strategic decision-making. 
    Ensure effective and high-quality data maintenance in CMMS. 

Key Relationships 
Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and our partners.  

 

Requirements 

Master’s degree in engineering, life sciences or equivalent experience required. Excellent technical knowledge is required. 

Minimum of 5 years management experience in facilities, utilities and maintenance. 

Strong relationship building skills are required. 

Experienced in GxP and quality management. 

Proficiency in CMMS and latest asset management technologies, including IoT systems. 

Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

You know how to deal with continuously meeting tight timelines. You are extremely stress resistant. 

You are willing to accept peak loads that manifest themselves in long days and long weeks and this several times per year (the shutdowns). 

You possess an outspoken ‘can do’ mentality. 

You are highly communicative, both written and spoken. Besides having a perfect command of Dutch, you speak and write English fluently. Other languages are an additional asset.
