Summary
An Associate Decision Scientist at D&H supports marketing, commercial, and finance partners by transforming data into insights that inform business decisions. This role is designed for an early career analytics professional who is developing strong analytical foundations, learning to apply structured problem solving, and building technical skills in a real business environment.
While this role focuses primarily on marketing and commercial analytics (e.g., customer behavior, campaign performance, and growth insights), it also provides exposure to broader decision science concepts, automation, and analytics best practices that support scalable, data driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Commercial Analytics Support
- Support marketing and commercial decision making through data analysis, reporting, and basic modeling under guidance from senior analysts or decision scientists.
- Analyze customer, channel, and campaign level data to identify performance trends, growth opportunities, and areas of improvement.
- Assist in evaluating trade‑offs across marketing spend, customer engagement, conversion, and revenue outcomes.
- Help translate business questions into analytical tasks and learn to apply appropriate analytical methods.
- Document assumptions, definitions, and analytical approaches to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
Analytics Enablement & Automation
- Support the development of repeatable reports, dashboards, and analytical templates used by marketing and commercial partners.
- Assist in identifying manual or recurring analytical tasks and contribute to efforts to automate or streamline them.
- Use SQL, Python, and Excel to improve data accessibility, accuracy, and efficiency over time.
Communication & Collaboration
- Summarize analytical findings into clear, concise insights for non‑technical audiences.
- Able to present results with context, implications, and recommended next steps.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners (e.g., BI) to ensure data quality and alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Economics, Marketing Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar).
- 1-3 years of experience in analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence, or a related role (internships and co‑ops included).
- Familiarity with dashboards or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience querying and analyzing structured datasets.
- Exposure to Python for data analysis, reporting, or basic automation (professional or academic).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 products, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic analytical models).
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and connect results to business questions.
Preferred
- Experience supporting marketing analytics, customer analytics, or commercial reporting.
- Coursework or applied experience in statistics, experimentation, or analytics driven decision making.
- Interest in developing skills in automation, self service analytics, or advanced analytical techniques.
- Comfort working with business partners and receiving feedback in a learning oriented environment.
