The Accounting Associate performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Conduct or help document accounting projects. Your work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.You will prepare, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating goals, including their linkages to related areas. Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and require minimal direction and receive guidance where needed. Follow established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2 - 5 years of experience with SQL, Access
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use advanced functions and features
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant license
- Prior experience in public or corporate accounting
- Strong technical accounting skills
Additional Information
The workstyle for this role will be hybrid home/office – 2-3 days in office. Candidate should reside within commutable distance to the downtown Louisville, KY office.

Internet Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
