Job description
STV currently has an open position for Senior MEP Estimator to join our Project Controls department as a part of our Centers of Excellence division. The role will be located out of our NYC location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confer with a broad range of technical, professional, and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants, and contractors to coordinate and establish detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction.
- Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications, or contract changes.
- Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if estimate is appropriate for the client’s implementation.
- Participate in change order negotiations.
- Plan, assign, and review the cost estimating work of estimates.
- Perform related tasks.
- The candidate must be field oriented as well as being a subject matter expert of means & methods estimating, NYC & NYS Building Codes and OSHA
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services, or related coursework.
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years of full-time, technical experience.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years must have been in one of the estimating areas of electrical, mechanical, or plumbing.
- A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in active facilities or secure environments (e.g., airports, transit, critical infrastructure) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with estimating software such as, Sage Estimating (Timberline), eTakeoff, HCSS Heavybid, On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam
Compensation Range:
