Title: Senior Natural / Adabas Developer (Mainframe)

Duration: 3 Months

Location: Trenton, NJ (Onsite → Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Natural / Adabas Developer to support and enhance legacy mainframe applications in a high-impact environment. This role requires strong expertise in Natural programming, Adabas database, and mainframe utilities, along with the ability to contribute to technical design, development, and documentation.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer with prior experience leading initiatives, working directly with stakeholders, and delivering high-quality solutions within structured project environments.

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Core working hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Initial onsite requirement (minimum 1 month), followed by potential hybrid flexibility

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Natural and Adabas
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Work within mainframe environments utilizing JCL, TSO, and ISPF
• Lead development tasks and contribute to project planning and execution
• Create and maintain technical documentation using MS Word and Excel
• Perform system testing, debugging, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide regular status updates
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Natural programming
• 5+ years working with Adabas database
• Strong experience with JCL (Job Control Language)
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF environments
• Proven experience leading or managing development efforts
• Experience creating technical documentation using MS Word and Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Java-based applications
• Familiarity with Oracle databases
• Experience working in structured or government environments
