Job description
- On-site role in Piedmont, CA | Chicago, IL | Bethesda, MD
- $200,000 annual salary, paid weekly. Health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
- Relocation assistance provided
The kindest thing you can do for a student who scored 99% is to tell them it's not yet 100%. If that idea unsettles you, this role isn't a fit. If it resonates, read on.
Students at Alpha don't passively attend lectures. They move rapidly through adaptive applications, mastering material at double the speed of conventional classrooms, while developing practical life competencies. Your mission is to ensure three commitments are fulfilled for every child in your group: genuine enthusiasm for learning, progress at 2x the standard rate, and acquisition of skills beyond any textbook. You'll also train the Guides who uphold these same commitments across your campus.
Each morning begins with analytics. Performance data reveals which students are progressing smoothly and which require additional support. By late morning you're facilitating a live session, leading K-8 students through exercises in public speaking or concentration using Alpha's structured methodology. Post-lunch you observe a Guide in action, then provide them with three targeted improvements to refine their execution. On certain days you become the energy source in a motivational gathering, transforming leaderboard rankings into momentum. You maintain direct engagement with your own student group while cultivating Guides capable of meeting your benchmark and as they advance, your influence scales from a single cohort to an entire site.
You'll witness reserved children speak confidently before adults. You'll see students who once "despised school" request extra time on campus. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained is precisely what brought them to that point because upholding expectations is how you demonstrate belief in someone's potential.
If you've exceeded benchmarks, transformed struggling performers into top achievers, and you're prepared to do the same for children: submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour live sessions with K-8 students focused on life competencies including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, using Alpha's structured approach
- Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and active mentorship so they execute sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy
- Conducting daily motivational gatherings that propel 100% of students toward weekly learning targets using developmentally appropriate incentives such as school currency and performance rankings
- Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint learners requiring support, then providing direct intervention
- Personally mentoring a small student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you expect every Guide to employ
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students engage with adaptive applications; your responsibility is to elevate the people surrounding them.
- Delivering lectures before a classroom. Your role is 80% performance-driven, 20% content-focused; if you prefer working at a whiteboard, this position isn't suitable.
- Accepting "close enough" when a student approaches mastery. 100% proficiency is the standard, and reducing it doesn't constitute compassion.
- Remaining desk-bound reviewing administrative documents. The majority of your time is spent in direct contact with students and Guides.
