Located in Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential for supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial component of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to enhance performance. C2BMC is vital for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.
Essential Functions:
Integrate Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) hardware and software into testbeds and operational systems
Conduct full system checkouts of virtual machines, networks, and message flows
Work with various internal and external entities across the Missile Defense System (MDS) to test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues
Author test plans and procedures
Write Problem Reports to document issues
Provide feedback to Developers
Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files
Perform data analysis of input/output and internal message traffic
Operate and troubleshoot C2BMC systems during test events and integration activities
Support meetings with National Team groups, other MDS elements, and Government customers
Non-standard work hours may occasionally be necessary, depending on test or deployment schedules
The position is based at Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO, but travel to field sites and National Team locations (e.g., Huntsville, HWY83) may be required
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Computer Science, System Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 1 year of relevant work experience
- Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
- At least 3 years of experience working as a system integrator or administrator
- Domain expertise in one or more of these areas: Networking, Linux, and Windows
- Self-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting with government clients and both internal and external personnel
- Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand hardware and software components operating in a widely distributed, virtual environment
- Ability to perform complex troubleshooting by analyzing application and system logs, network configurations, and interface documents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering
- Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
- Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF)
- Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks
- Prior experience in integration and testing within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program
- Experience with Agile methodologies; creating and managing capabilities, features, and PRs

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
