Job Summary

The Senior Training Manager is a high-impact individual contributor who serves as a learning content strategist and design expert within Medline’s Learning & Development organization. This role owns the end-to-end learning content strategy, design, and development process, partnering closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, engaging, and accessible training. Acting as the primary liaison between business partners and design teams, the role translates business needs into effective learning solutions while managing a complex portfolio of projects, priorities, and timelines. With no direct people management, this high-autonomy role relies on strong collaboration, strategic partnership, and expertise to drive learning solutions from concept through handover.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Consulting

  • Partner with stakeholders to diagnose capability gaps, determine the instructional strategies best suited to close them, and drive execution with the production team to deliver solutions that prioritize usability, engagement, and accessibility.

  • Conduct advanced needs assessments that incorporate business data, performance insights, and stakeholder interviews.

Program Design & Development

  • Lead end-to-end design and development of complex programs, including multimodule curricula, blended learning experiences, and capability building toolkits and ensuring content flow, modalities, and reinforcement methods support quality learning experience.

  • Develop high-quality instructional materials (eLearning, VILT, ILT, blended solutions) aligned with adult learning principles and Medline standards.

  • Oversee content development conducted by Training Managers, instructional designers, or vendors, maintaining consistency across programs

  • Manage the portfolio of learning design and development projects, assigning priorities, resources management and timelines.

    Program Leadership & Execution

    • Own program design and development planning, scheduling of activities, and stakeholder communication for assigned programs or program clusters.

    • Partner with L&D coordination/operations teams to design workflows that minimize friction and maximize learner clarity.

    • Act as the escalation point for delivery issues or learner concerns.

    Quality, Measurement & Improvement

    • Analyze data, drop-off points, experience feedback, and reinforcement results from surveys, assessments, and on-the-job application measures to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

    • Recommend updates to content, delivery strategy, or enabling tools to enhance program effectiveness.

    Cross Team Collaboration

    • Partner closely with other L&D sub teams to coordinate dependencies, maintain brand and design standards, and support shared initiatives.

    • Contribute thought leadership on design practices, facilitation methods, or emerging learning technologies.

    • Provide thought leadership on experience design, learner engagement methods, and reinforcement strategies.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    • Typically 5+ years of experience in learning design, instructional design, or corporate training roles.

    • L&D project management, planning, and prioritization capability.

    • Proven experience leading complex program designs and development, and large‑scale training initiatives.

    • Strong experience in consulting with business leaders, vendors and HR partners.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Advanced instructional design skills, with expertise in modern learning methods.

    • Strong consulting, communication, and influence skills; able to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels across the organization.

    • Ability to coach others in facilitation and design best practices.

    • Comfort with ambiguity, iteration, and rapid change.

    Additional Information

    • Travel required: up to [10–25%], depending on program portfolio and delivery needs.

    The anticipated salary range for this position:

    $92,000.00 - $138,000.00 Annual

    The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
