Job Summary
The Senior Operations Production Controller owns the end-to-end orchestration and optimization of outbound order flow within the distribution center. This role applies deep operational and system expertise to independently resolve complex constraints, ensure consistent execution across wave, allocation, pick, pack, ship, and strengthen performance across service, quality, cost, and people metrics. Operating with minimal guidance, the Senior Controller serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for outbound flow, providing insights, training, and leadership across teams and cross functional partners.Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the daily execution plan for outbound order flow across wave release, allocation, picking, processing, and shipping. Make real‑time decisions to adjust workflow, rebalance labor/system constraints, and protect service commitments. Prevent or mitigate flow interruptions by anticipating constraints using data signals, system behavior, and floor observations.
Diagnose and resolve complex operational flow problems requiring new perspectives beyond established SOPs. Lead defined workstreams or improvement initiatives targeting throughput, cycle time, backlogs, accuracy, or exception reduction.
Analyze operational data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to Operations Leadership. Establish visibility tools (dashboards, threshold triggers) to proactively identify areas for continuous improvement.
Partner with Operations leadership, Supervisors, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Transportation to resolve systemic flow barriers. Influence partners to ensure performance, adoption of best practices, and alignment to KPIs.
Serve as a subject matter expert in order flow through SAP and Catalyst, understanding upstream and downstream impacts. Develop training and reference materials to strengthen site capability in systems usage related to order flow.
Provide training and day‑to‑day guidance to supervisors, leads, and cross‑functional partners on best practices for flow control. Act as a resource for other leaders by providing problem‑solving support and reinforcing standard work.
Integrate safety, quality, and compliance standards directly into flow processes to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Identify and address risks that impair Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, or People KPIs, collaborating with leadership on sustainable solutions.
