Job Details:

Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student associate to assist with a records retention summer project at University Business Services. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in information management while contributing to the efficient operation of our institution.

This position is open exclusively to The University of Texas at Austin students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and cataloging physical and digital records according to established guidelines and retention schedules.
  • Conduct data entry and verification tasks to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in record keeping.
  • Follow standard procedures for handling and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Provide general administrative support to the records management team as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet software, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in administrative tasks or inventory management is a plus but not required.

  • $15.00 per hour

Working Conditions

  • This position is located on the UT Campus, and the duration of employment is from May 18 to August 14, 2026, with a possibility of an employment extension until the fall semester.
  • Work schedule is Monday-Thursday (flexible) 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Physical tasks include keyboard and manual dexterity
