JOB PURPOSE:
The Process-Focused Global Tester is responsible for designing, executing and continuously improving end-to-end control testing across global finance processes, with a strong focus on process understanding, risk identification and control effectiveness. The role ensures that key controls are tested consistently and efficiently, issues are clearly articulated, and insights are fed back to process owners to strengthen the overall control environment and support SOX/ICFR compliance.
KEY ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform and/or oversee end-to-end testing of internal controls (design and operating effectiveness) in line with SOX / ICFR / internal control frameworks.
Responsible for delivering control testing plans, including sample selection, walkthroughs, and evidence evaluation, working with a solution minded focus, process risk and controls impact and leveraging digital innovative solutions (e.g. use of Agentic AI) and propose enhancements to current AI agentic solutions and support implementation
Lead investigations and root cause analysis for major process and controls deficiencies, including reporting to senior management on conclusions, and alignment with stakeholders on preventive and corrective actions needed
Identify, document, and evaluate control deficiencies, including severity assessment and potential financial or operational impact.
Analyse test results to identify trends, root causes, and systemic issues across processes or entities. Address open risks and areas of exposure, including performing independent root cause analysis for controls incidents and/or investigations.
Liaise with senior control owners and process owners to clarify control expectations and discuss testing outcomes to ensure controls testing progress and conclusions.
Track remediation actions, validate closure of deficiencies, and perform re-testing where required.
Ensure testing is completed in accordance with defined methodologies, timelines, and quality standards. Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, quality, and control effectiveness.
Prepare clear, concise testing workpapers and contribute to management reporting and audit deliverables.
Support internal and external audits by responding to queries and providing required documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance
Minimum 5 years of experience in controls testing, audit, or finance risk roles
Core Control & Risk Skills
Strong knowledge of SOX / ICFR and internal control frameworks
End‑to‑end finance process and control testing expertise
Control deficiency assessment, severity evaluation, and impact analysis
Audit interaction and regulatory compliance experience
Analytical & Technical Skills
Risk identification, root cause analysis, and issue investigation
Strong documentation and testing workpaper preparation
Exposure to digital testing tools, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
Ability to engage with senior control and process owners
Clear, concise communication of testing outcomes and risks
Strong collaboration across global teams
