The Work
We are seeking a skilled Radar Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and testing of high-performance radar systems. The successful candidate will excel in analytical thinking, communication, and thrive in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Applying advanced technologies and scientific principles to develop groundbreaking radar solutions.
- Conducting functional analysis, design trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definitions to transform customer requirements into radar system software specifications.
- Creating models and conducting detailed simulations to evaluate system performance.
- Executing system verification and aiding in certification activities.
- Representing the organization on contracts while interfacing with internal and external customers, government lab partners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant technical matters.
- Offering assistance with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, providing tooling expertise and guidance.
- Automating repetitive tasks through scripting languages.
- Mentoring early-career engineers in the systems engineering processes required to deliver exceptional products to stakeholders and customers.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- High proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented programming language, MATLAB, and scripting languages.
- Proven experience in two or more of the following areas: systems engineering, software and systems analysis, requirements development, verification and validation, trade studies, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.
- Experience collaborating with customers to effectively resolve complex technical challenges.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Solid mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis, and signal processing.
- Functional knowledge of radar systems and subsystems with familiarity in radar modeling tools.
- Experience in radar systems development, including algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.
- Technical leadership experience and program execution skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

- Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin offers various alternate work schedules for added flexibility. Our options include a standard 40-hour work week or condensed schedules providing extra time away from the office in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
- Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
The base salary for this position in New Jersey ranges from $91,000 to $172,488. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. The wage range and benefits summary serve as a general guideline and may be governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement upon extending an offer.
