Job Description:

AHMG Rothman Orthopedic at Winter Garden

2200 Fowler Grove Blvd, Suite 320, Winter Garden, FL

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

  • Previews charts pre-operatively, documents pertinent information, and distributes post-op discharge instructions.
  • Coordinates patient care with homecare nurses and arranges necessary medical supplies.
  • Communicates test results and follow-up instructions to patients, and handles incoming calls.
  • Provides administrative support, including drafting letters, scheduling, and assisting with clinic preparation.
  • Assists with data collection and documentation during patient intake and rooming.
  • Reinforces patient and family education based on identified health needs. Assists with minor procedures, blood draws, and specimen handling.
  • Examines post-operative patients and performs wound checks for possible infections.
  • Performs history and physicals for pre-operative patients.
  • Manages prescriptions, including e-prescribing, obtaining pre-certifications, and communicating with pharmacies.
  • Conducts pre-operative and post-operative calls, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and patient questions are answered.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Medical office procedures, medical terminology, and knowledge of medications [Required]
• Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office [Required]

Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:
• or Equiv
• Graduate of accredited LPN Program/School

Work Experience:
• 2+ in orthopedics [Preferred]

Additional Information:
• N/A

Licenses and Certifications:
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
