Job description

We're a family-owned driving school in New Jersey rebuilding our landing page to increase conversions. We need a video editor to turn our raw footage into 5 polished videos for the new page. All footage is provided — no shooting required.

About the Business

900+ five-star Google reviews. 95% first-time pass rate. 4,000+ students trained. Two audiences: parents booking for their teens, and adults learning to drive later in life. The videos need to make both groups feel welcome and safe.

What You're Working With

25–30 vertical (9:16) clips from real lessons: student walking in, greeting the instructor, in-car instruction, highway driving, cone maneuvers, parking, car exteriors with branding. Plus 10 horizontal (16:9) in-car testimonial videos where students react right after passing their exam — real emotions, real joy, dashboard camera.

The 5 Deliverables

Hero Video — "The Full Journey" (15–20 sec, vertical): The student experience from arrival to success. Steady pacing, building confidence shot by shot.

Hero Video — "The Human Connection" (15–20 sec, vertical): Focused on the instructor-student relationship. Just the warm human moments. Slowest pacing of the three.

Hero Video — "The Confidence Build" (15–20 sec, vertical): Student's progression from hesitant to capable. Pacing accelerates as they gain skill.

Testimonial Compilation (30–45 sec, horizontal): 3–4 best testimonial clips compiled with baked-in captions. Captions are non-negotiable — dashboard audio has road noise and most mobile viewers watch on mute.

Review-Overlay Video (30–45 sec, vertical): Best hero footage with Google review quotes layered as text cards. We provide the quotes.

Each deliverable delivered with and without music. Plus a thumbnail JPG from each. Total: 10 video files + 5 thumbnails.

Creative Direction

The feel across all videos: warm, real, human, trustworthy. Not corporate. Not over-produced. Not TikTok-flashy. This is a family business and the videos should feel like it. Music should be warm and subtle — acoustic, soft piano, gentle ambient. Color grading warm and natural. You have creative freedom on clip selection, pacing, transitions, and whether to add text overlays on the hero videos.

After hiring, you'll receive a detailed brief document with guidance for each deliverable, the copywriter's full landing page brief so you understand where each video lives on the page, and the raw footage.

Technical Specs

Hero videos: 9:16, 1080x1920, under 3MB compressed for web (plus uncompressed version). Testimonial: 16:9, 1920x1080 with baked-in captions. All MP4/H.264. Hero videos loopable if possible.

Terms

$500 fixed price. 1 revision round included — you deliver first cuts, we send consolidated feedback in one message, you deliver finals. Timeline: 5–7 business days for first cut, 2–3 days for revision. Total project under 2 weeks.

To Apply

Show me one thing: a 15–30 second promo or testimonial video you edited from raw client footage. Not a motion graphics reel, not a music video, not an After Effects showpiece. I want to see how you pace cuts, build an emotional arc, and work with real footage from a real business. If you've done work for a local service business, mention it.
