- Providing accurate project cost and time estimates to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with marine and offshore standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ABS).
- Supporting project execution through factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, and sea trials.
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance to enhance team skills.
- Collaborating across disciplines with mechanical, naval architecture, and software teams.
- Interfacing effectively with clients, shipyards, vendors, and classification societies.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks during the project lifecycle.
- Occasionally traveling for ship checks and customer reviews.
- Prioritizing health, safety, and environmental considerations in all activities.
- Adhering to corporate policies, including quality assurance and security protocols.
To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have

- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a similar field.
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of experience in marine electrical systems design in a professional engineering environment, shipyard, or marine electrical contracting.
- A solid understanding of electrical engineering design principles.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming.
- Capability to interpret engineering documentation and industry standards.
- Experience drafting technical requirements and Statements of Work (SOW).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Additional Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and military standards.
- Experience within the NAVSEA organization and its activities.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy and commercial ship design practices.
