Job Description:

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Location: AdventHealth Cancer Institute 2501 N Orange Ave, Suite 283, Orlando, FL 32803

This role will work closely with the Outpatient Palliative Care clinic and other oncology nurse navigators to care for patients needing supportive and palliative care.

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with significant experience in oncology, or palliative care.  This is a new position and the incumbent will need to work with Cancer Institute staff and leadership in optimizing the workflows for this new, important role.  Flexibility, professionalism, good communication skills and autonomy, as well as being a solid team player are important.  Willingness to learn palliative care medicine, in addition to oncology treatment side effects, and obtain palliative care certification after 2 years of employment is preferred.

  • Acts as a liaison across the multidisciplinary team to ensure proper orders, medical records, consents, and other required documentation are received.
  • Coordinates timely care with physicians and supportive services departments. Maintains professional relationships with customers, patients, and team members.
  • Provides direct patient care coordination within the Community Care and Transitional Care Programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, and community providers to safely perform care and achieve health goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to provide age-appropriate cancer education. [Required]
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. [Required]
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize in-house and external oncology resources. [Required]
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently. [Required]
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Teams [Preferred]
• Proficient with electronic medical record system such as Epic [Preferred]
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) [Preferred]

Education:
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• in nursing

Work Experience:
• 1+ professional nursing experience [Required]
• 1+ professional nursing experience in oncology [Preferred]

Additional Information:

Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$68,132.50 - $119,520.35
