Job description
As a Production Material Planner, you will ensure materials needed for production are available when required. This role works across production, procurement, inventory, and warehouse teams to monitor demand, resolve shortages, support replenishment activity, and communicate material risks that could affect schedule or throughput.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review production schedules, work orders, material requirements, and inventory status to support on-time builds.
- Monitor shortages and demand for production hardware, assemblies, and consumables.
- Coordinate with procurement to request, track, and expedite needed material.
- Work with production leads and warehouse personnel to resolve material issues and prioritize critical needs.
- Maintain shortage reports and other planning records used to support daily production decisions.
- Communicate material constraints, delivery risks, and recovery plans to the appropriate team members.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across teams.
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, inventory systems, or ERP-style tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in material planning, inventory control, procurement support, warehouse operations, or manufacturing coordination.
- Associate degree or coursework in supply chain, business, logistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems and inventory transaction processes.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
