  • In this role, you will provide production operational support for Intel Foundry Automation Infrastructure Systems.
  • This is a key individual-contributor position supporting a critical segment of IT responsible for delivering high availability, reliable, resilient, and cost-effective manufacturing computing services across TMG Fab/Sort factories, Assembly/Test factories and labs.
  • You will deploy, configure, and manage Windows Server OS and/or Linux OS environments, particularly with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • This role also includes managing various layered applications such as enterprise software, middleware, and security tools, ensuring that they perform efficiently, securely in alignment with key initiatives driving towards Intel Foundry's success.
  • You will bring expertise in automation to streamline processes and enhance the overall efficiency of our Windows Server and/or Linux Infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer with experience managing complex projects to achieve organizational goals. Success in this role requires adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lifecycle management of Windows Server OS and/or Linux OS (especially RHEL), including installation, basic configuration, patching, and routine maintenance.
  • Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining layered applications, including:
  • Middleware: .NET, IIS (Windows); Apache, Tomcat (Linux)
  • Enterprise software: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server (Windows); LDAP, MySQL, PostgreSQL (Linux)
  • Security tools: Antivirus solutions, SELinux settings, firewalls
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure compatibility and smooth integration of layered applications across operating systems and within network/security standards.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance reliability of OS and application operations.
  • Apply basic security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability scanning support, and access control configuration.
  • Perform system and application monitoring, assisting with performance tuning and helping minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot OS and application level issues, escalating complex problems appropriately and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure stability of operations.
  • Maintain documentation related to configuration, integration steps, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate closely with network and security teams to ensure infrastructure compliance, data integrity, and smooth operation across environments.

Ideal Candidate Must Demonstrate:

  • Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments, ideally including exposure to Win2k19, Win2k22, RHEL 7, or RHEL 8, with growing confidence in managing OS lifecycle tasks.
  • Good understanding of layered applications and middleware, and the ability to support integration and troubleshooting across different operating system environments.
  • Practical scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python, with the ability to automate routine tasks and a strong interest in expanding automation skills.
  • Working knowledge of security principles and the ability to apply basic security practices across OS and application layers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, capable of diagnosing common OS or application issues and escalating complex problems appropriately.
  • Clear communication and effective teamwork, collaborating with peers and senior engineers to follow best practices and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline with practical experience with a focus on either in Windows or Linux infrastructure engineering, with an emphasis on RHEL Environment, with at least 2 years of working experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Windows and/or Linux OS environments, particularly RHEL, including configuration, basic tuning, and supporting layered applications.
  • Proficiency in automation/scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python (additional scripting languages are a plus) to streamline OS and application management tasks.
  • Familiarity with security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS) and experience applying security best practices across operating systems and applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, with experience diagnosing and resolving issues across OS, middleware, enterprise applications, and security tools.
