Role Overview(8+ years)

This role focuses on quality engineering for integrations with a primary emphasis on API and backend testing. Engineers will perform backend validation, contribute to automation frameworks and UI automation initiatives. The role balances automation and manual testing where required, with increasing focus on scalable automation and AI-driven testing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute API tests for REST and SOAP services (inbound and outbound).
• Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify data consistency.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for APIs and integrations.
• Contribute to UI automation initiatives using tools like Playwright.
• Execute manual testing where automation is not feasible.
• Design, maintain, and optimize regression test suites including periodic full regression cycles.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Track and report defects, test coverage, and quality metrics.
• Build tools/utilities to improve testing efficiency.
• Leverage AI tools or agents to enhance automation and testing processes.
• Define test strategies and drive quality initiatives across teams.
• Lead automation architecture decisions and framework design.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce best practices.
• Drive organization-wide initiatives like AI adoption and UI automation strategy.

Core Skills (Must Have)

• Strong understanding of OOP principles.
• Strong API testing experience (Postman, RestSharp, Rest Assured, etc.).
• Experience with backend and integration testing.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with BDD tools (Cucumber, SpecFlow, Gherkin).
• Experience with automation frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
